Color Stone is granite of which the color has been permanently altered through Color Stone Technology, applying chemical catalyst reaction and nano-technology to certain rock forming minerals which govern color in natural granite. Bumil Building Materials Co. Ltd (hereinafter referred to “the Company”) developed it’s core technology, automated production line, and various products by investing more than 10 million USD (including 7 million USD invested from Venture Capitals in Korea) and eight years of research and development.
Since Color Stone changes color only from inexpensive white (or pink) granite into other desired colors, the product has great cost advantage over other competing colored granites. Utilizing the automated production line, the company can produce not only mass quantity of a certain product type but also small volume/custom tailored products. So far, the company has launched granites in RED, BROWN, BLACK/GREY, and YELLOW colors with variations in tone and texture.
Color Stone was tested by Korea’s national institutions for durability, contamination, iron content, absorption, bending strength, compression strength, far-infrared ray emission test, and etc. Currently, Color Stone is widely used in Korea, including major residential development projects and public building construction projects by some of the biggest construction companies.
